To every veteran who has ever worn the uniform — and to those who still stand watch — I salute you from the depths of my heart.

Fifty-five years and three months ago, I too left home, as a Marine headed for Vietnam, carrying more questions than answers, more courage than comfort.

And like many of you, I returned changed — marked not by the scars of battle alone, but by the strength that only God could forge in the fire of service.

You see, the battle may have ended, but the courage still marches on. The heart of a warrior never stops beating for freedom, for brotherhood, for faith, and for country. You stood when it was hard. You served when others turned away. You gave when there was little left to give.

And today, God still honors that courage.

He still heals unseen wounds.

He still restores purpose to every veteran’s soul.

To my brothers and sisters who wear the uniform today — keep standing tall. You are the defenders of peace and the living legacy of every veteran who paved the way before you.

And to all who have served — your mission isn’t over. God still has battles for you to fight: battles of faith, hope, and love. So hold your head high. You may be retired from duty, but you are never retired from destiny.

For as Scripture reminds us in Joshua 1:9:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” —

From one veteran to another —

I understand. I remember. I still believe.

And I thank you for continuing to serve — not just your country, but your God. For the Lord is our light and our salvation. May God continue to watch over all veteran and their families. I SALUTE YOU ALL.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the brave men and women who have answered the call to serve this nation. Strengthen their hearts, restore their peace, and surround them with Your unfailing love. Let every veteran know that they are seen, valued, and forever honored in Your sight.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
